Use truffles simply
A few well-executed gestures: tasting, measuring, and finding the right consistency.

A simple foundation is a good start
The first preparation doesn’t need to demonstrate skill: it should help you get to know the flavor. Start with pasta, eggs, potatoes, or bread and let the truffle find its place. With a familiar base, it’s easier to understand what changes when you add a sauce or a finishing touch.
Prepare the ingredients before you begin. Keep the product, a clean spoon, and anything you need to adjust the seasoning close at hand. Reducing the number of steps at the last minute helps you serve the dish at the desired consistency.
The dosage is determined by tasting
There is no universal amount that applies to fresh, sauce, and concentrate. Start with the package instructions and the number of people. If you are experimenting, add it gradually and taste before adjusting.
Salt should be assessed after considering all the ingredients: an already seasoned base or a flavorful cheese can change the balance. Adding a lot of the product right away makes it harder to tell which ingredient is dominating.
Toss a sauce with the pasta
Cook the pasta according to its instructions and reserve a little of the cooking water. If the product allows it, add small amounts of water to distribute the sauce. The goal is to coat the pasta without leaving the mixture separated at the bottom.
Proceed little by little: a sauce that is too liquid is more difficult to fix. Follow the instructions regarding heat; some preparations are added at the end, while others can be gently warmed. Do not treat products with different formulations in the same way.
A crostini that stays crispy

Toast the bread and prepare the topping separately. Add it close to serving time, avoiding an excessive layer that makes each bite heavy. Contrast and proportion can do more than quantity.
If you add a cheese spread, let it serve as the base and taste the complete result. Order matters too: bread, any soft component, and a measured finishing touch allow you to distinguish the textures.
The final moment
Before bringing it to the table, pause for one final taste. Check the temperature, salt, and consistency. Fresh truffles and processed products require different care: choose the finishing touch based on the species or the product instructions.
Serve neat portions and let the dish breathe. There is no need to add extra elements just for decoration: a simple preparation, well served, conveys care.
Three small exercises
Compare: try the same sauce on bread and potatoes, observing how the perception changes.
Reduce: prepare the dish with one fewer ingredient and assess whether the aroma is easier to discern.
Take notes: keep the proportions you liked. Your homemade recipe also grows from these experiments.
