From inspiration to a plan

A beautiful image can suggest a dinner, but before you begin, check the ingredients, timing, and number of servings. Make sure you have the specified product or understand what difference a substitution will make. One sauce is not automatically equivalent to another.

Choose the recipe based on the occasion. If you have little time, reduce the number of steps; if you want to devote time to cooking, focus on one technique. Preparing something simple with care is already a way of welcoming someone.

Prepare first what you can

Arrange the ingredients and utensils, measure the required quantities, and read through the sequence to the end. Check which steps need to be done at the last minute and which can be prepared in advance.

Organize the service: a dish that requires immediate finishing should not have to wait while you look for dishes or open packages. When cooking for several people, also consider the space in the pan and the capacity of the pots.

Adjust the portions sensibly

To get started, use the quantities indicated for the planned number of people. If you double the servings, check the capacity of your utensils: an overcrowded container can change the cooking process.

Salt, liquids, and consistency require attention during preparation. Add them gradually and taste as you go. The product instructions help prevent a substitution from making the dressing too intense or too thick.

Three ways to try

Three ways to try

Aperitif: crostini prepared close to serving time, with a well-proportioned base and topping.
Quick dinner: pasta or gnocchi, working on the connection between the sauce and the cooking water when appropriate.
Shared lunch: an oven-baked dish, checking the product’s timing and instructions before incorporating it.

Taste it in three moments

Taste the base, then the seasoned dish, and finally the bite with any finishing elements. This helps you identify where to make adjustments. Making small corrections is easier than fixing an excess.

If the result is good, note what you used and what changes you made. A reliable recipe is also a small record: it allows you to recreate a successful balance without starting from scratch every time.
